Evidence and guidance
Sahih al-Bukhari 4998 reports that Jibril عليه السلام reviewed the Qur'an with the Prophet ﷺ every year and twice in the final year of his life. This shows the importance of revision.
How to apply it
For hifz, do not let new memorization push old memorization aside. Use daily recent review, weekly cumulative review and periodic longer revision. A modern schedule is a practical method, not a revealed Sunnah in itself.
